- Carmela A Mauthe, 51, Appleton, passed away on February 24, 2013 after a long illness. Carmela was born on May 3, 1961 in Kenosha WI to the late Edward and Ann (Grudzinski) Vite. She was a graduate of Appleton East High School and later attended UW Fox Valley. On August 7, 1981 she married Robert Mauthe at St. Therese Catholic Church in Appleton. She was a member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Carmela's love and life was her family, especially her children and granddaughters. She loved cooking, especially Italian and Polish cuisine. She spent much of her youth in her mother's and grandmother's kitchen, learning to cook and laughing. She loved working around her flower garden and her yard. She also loved the peace and tranquility of Wisconsin's great north woods and lakes.
She will be sorrowfully missed by her husband Bob, son Benjamin (Brittney) Mauthe, Appleton, daughter Rachel Mauthe, Appleton, grandchildren Isabella and Sophia, sister Anna (Joey) Bauer, Appleton, brothers, Chuck (Barbara) Vite, Indiana and David (Jane) Vite, Illinois, step-father Ken Rusch, Bob's parents, Lou and Betty Mauthe, as well as nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Danny LaPoint.
Friends may call at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 1810 N. McDonald Street on Monday March 4, 2013 from 10-11 am. A memorial service will follow at the church at 11:00 am with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Online condolences may be expressed at www.valleyfh.com.
Bob would like to thank his parents for all the support they offered during Carmela's illness, especially his mother who was a "Godsend". Also thank you to Fr. Falk for all his spiritual guidance.
