    • Arthur R. White, 78 of Wells Highlands, died at his home June 10, 2016 after a period of failing health.

      He was born August 20, 1937 in Springfield, MA, the son of Arthur R. and Doris A. (Bracebridge) White and a graduate of West Springfield High School and attended the Wilbraham & Monson Academy and Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Arthur served in the United States Army before starting his career as Master Production Scheduler for the Monsanto Company in Saint Louis, MO. After retirement he and his wife, Judith moved to Wells, ME where he was well known for his love of dealing in and restoring Antiques.

      Arthur was pre-deceased by his wife Judith (Bushman) White in August of 2014. Surviving are his 4 children; 3 sons, Arthur White and his wife Marilyn of Chicopee, MA, John B. White and his significant other Brigida Dora of Windsor, CT, William R. White and his wife, Kaoru of Kobe, Japan; his daughter Doris E. Butler and her significant other Mark Close of Glen Allen, VA; a brother Robert White and his wife Mary of Concord, MA and a sister, Elaine Gurka and her husband Allen of the Villages, FL; 7 grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter and his loving companion of 17 years, his cat, Midnight.

      Arthur will be laid to rest with his wife in the Oceanview Cemetery in Wells, where a private graveside service will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME. Condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
