- Arthur Reinhold Boesch, age 86, of Hilbert, died on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at St. Paul Elder Care in Kaukauna. He was born May 5, 1931 in Sheboygan, son of Karl & Ida (Diener) Boesch, Sr.
Art grew up on the family farm and began attending a one room school house, St. Peter Lutheran Elementary School. Since Arts parents only spoke German, his schooling was a bit challenging. Fortunately, his teacher also spoke German and worked diligently to teach him English. During his time in school, Arthur was confirmed on March 25, 1945 and later graduated from St. Peter on the third day of June, 1945.
He later, with nothing more than an eighth graduation, began farming. In 1956, Art was drafted into the army and served in Korea where he was stationed watching over the demilitarized zone. Upon his honorable discharge, Art returned home and married his longtime sweetheart, Beverly Bishop at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in rural Kaukauna. Arthur began working for a house mover and construction business and farmed his entire working life in the Town of Chilton until he sold his dairy herd in 1986. It was at this time that he began working at Ariens Company in Brillion until his formal retirement at the age of 62 when he returned to working the land at the farm he loved.
Art was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Hilbert. In his free time, Art enjoyed taking his children, and now his grandchildren, down to the Killsnake River to fish or ice skate. He had a passion for Polka Music and in his younger years, would take Beverly to dances throughout the area. Art will be fondly remembered for his big beautiful smile and his eager willingness to offer a kind word to all he met.
Survivors include his wife: Bev; his children: Scott (Nicole) Boesch, Jay Boesch and his fiancee, Angela Young, Dan Boesch; grandchildren: Logan (Alyssa) Boesch, Jessica, Lauren & Kylie Boesch; a brother: Carl Boesch, Jr., a sister: Mary (Bill) Schomburg; and 2 sisters-in-law: Bonnie Lou Bishop & Arlene Bishop. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Arthur was preceded in death by his parents; 2 sisters-in-law: Donna Boesch & June Everett; and a brother-in-law: Russel J. Bishop.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 13, 2017 at St. Peter Lutheran Church (43 N. 3rd St.) in Hilbert with the Rev. Joel Brassfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 and on Thursday at the church from 9:30 am until 10:45 am. A prayer service will be held Wednesday evening at the funeral home at the close of the visitation.
A memorial fund has been established in the name of Arthur Reinhold Boesch.
Arthurs family would like to thank the entire rehabilitation staff of St. Paul Home, along with the entire Cardiac Team at St. Elizabeth Hospital for all of the loving care that was shown to both Art and his entire family.
