    • Age 90, passed away Thursday, January 27, 2005 in Appleton. Arlene was born in Mackville on March 27, 1914, daughter of the late Edward and Johanna (Speel) Krueger. On June 7, 1938, she married Paul Jansen at Holy Name Church in Kimberly; Paul preceded her in death on May 4, 1983. For many years, she and Paul owned and operated the Jansen Funeral Home in Kimberly, where Arlene was a member of the William Verhagen Post #60 of the American Legion Auxiliary, the Board of Directors for the Kimberly Library, the Catholic Order of Foresters, and Holy Spirit Parish. Her family was dear to her, and she truly enjoyed spending time with each and every one of them. She will be sadly missed by her five daughters: Mary (Ron) Nieling of Kimberly; Nancy (Paul) Bartelt of Menasha; Paula (Ken) DeBruin of Sherwood; Leslie Jansen of Missouri; and Tina (Mike) Horn of Appleton; a son: James (Carol) Jansen of Illinois; nine grandchildren: Julie (Dave) Gloudemans, James (Sara) Nieling, Jennifer (Brian) DeWall, Jeannine (Richard) Wilz, Andrea Bartelt and her fiancĂ© Josh Robinson, Ali (Patrick) Ambroso, Ben Smith, Paul Tribble, and Michael Horn; ten great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Colin, and Spencer Gloudemans; Ryan and Ana Nieling; Tristan and Levi DeWall; Kylie Smith; and Jeremy and Lucas Wilz; a brother: Edward Krueger of Darboy; a sister: Mae Daniel of Kimberly; a sister-in-law: Marion (Glen) Vandehey of Kimberly; a brother-in-law: James Strick of Kimberly. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Paul in 1983, a grandson Jamie Jansen, infant brothers Wilfred and Frederick, a brother Raymond (Jean) Krueger, sisters Edna Krueger and Georgine Rudolph, a brother-in-law Dale Daniel, and sisters-in-law Ermagard Krueger and Ruth Strick.

      The family will receive relatives and friends at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home in Kimberly on Sunday after 2:00. Visiting hours will conclude with a American Legion Auxiliary prayer at 4:45 PM and a parish prayer and scripture service at 5:00 PM. A private burial will take place at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly.
