DeBruin, Ardyce E.
Ardyce E. DeBruin, 78, Appleton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 12, 2009, at Appleton Medical Center. She was born on Aug. 16, 1930, in Weyauwega, the daughter of the late Walter and Elsie (Miller) Koehler. On Oct. 10, 1970, she married LeRoy DeBruin. Ardyce was employed as a legal secretary in Appleton for a number of years. She enjoyed playing cards with friends and looked forward to an occasional visit to the casino. Her very good friends in her apartment complex kept daily tabs on Ardyce and their children adopted her as "Grandma Ardie". Also, her niece, Sherry (Gary) from Oshkosh, did the shopping for her on a regular basis.
Survivors include her siblings, Leroy (Geneva) Koehler, Appleton; Loraine Holcombe, Weyauwega; Werner (Jeanine) Koehler, Appleton; and Duane (Elizabeth) Koehler, Weyauwega. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Ardyce will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her sister, Verona (Robert) Wohlt; and brother-in-law, Leslie Holcombe.
The funeral service for Ardyce will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2009, at HIGHLAND MEMORIAL PARK - STAR OF HOPE CHAPEL, 3131 N. Richmond Street, Appleton, with the Rev. Vilas E. Mazemke officiating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
