- Arbin John Nelson, 98, of Green Bay, passed away on September 14, 2010. He was born on March 2, 1912 to the late Edwin and Caroline (Gross) Nelson. Arbin married Alice VanDen Busch on April 15, 1939 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral. He was employed by Green Bay Drop Forge as a supervisor and was the owner of Nelson's Esquire Bar for 12 years. Following retirement Arbin worked at St. Vincent Hospital. He also volunteered much of his time at Curative Workshop and St. Vincent DePaul. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Cathedral where he was an usher. Arbin enjoyed playing cards, spending time with his grandchildren and most of all telling a good joke. Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Alice; 3 daughters, Sharon (Don) Wright, Key Largo, FL; Susan (Neil Wells) Hrubesky, Chicago; Wendy (Dale) Besson, Green Bay; 7 grandchildren, John Wright, Annie (Brian) Zvoneck, Betsy Wright, Nicole (Steve) Marion, Matthew (Michelle) Hrubesky, Peter (Michelle) Hrubesky, and Jessica (Benny) Brojde; 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one brother, Holly Nelson and one sister, Marvel Bredael. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St. from 4-8pm Friday. Parish wake service 7pm Friday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue Saturday from 9-10am at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 140 S. Monroe Ave. Mass of Christian Burial 10am at the church with the Rev. John Girotti officiating. Entombment in the Allouez Catholic Chapel Mausoleum.
