- Antonius "Tony" Vanden Acker, 87 of Kimberly, died Friday December 11, 2015 at Brewster Village. He was born September 12, 1928, in Uden Holland, son of the late Adrian and Petronella (Jacobs) Vanden Acker. Tony married Anna Jaegers on February 11, 1953.
Tony came to the United States in 1953. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict from 1954-1956. He worked for Miller Electric for 34 years, retiring as a supervisor in 1991. Tony was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, Combined Locks, and the Harvey Pierre Post #2778 VFW, Appleton. When he was able, Tony loved to go dancing with Anna, especially Polka. He enjoyed playing cards, watching NASCAR and wrestling on TV. Tony's greatest enjoyment came from spending time with his family, especially his Grandchildren.
Tony is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Anna; his four sons: Adrian (Jean), Appleton, Marty (Patti), Appleton, Anthony (Betsy), Hortonville, and Joseph (Julie), Neenah; seven Grandchildren: Heather Vanden Acker, Jason (Shantel) Vanden Acker, Mark Maas, Brian Vanden Acker, Kristin (Shaun) Anderson, Eric (Carly) Vanden Acker, and Anna Vanden Acker; three great grandchildren: Lindsay Rusch, Andrew Pawlekiewicz, and Nathanyal Vanden Acker; Tony is further survived by three brothers: Johannes (Tina), Adrian (Mia), Bert (Marietje), and Jan (Riek); four sisters: Annie Vander Wyst, Miep (Willem) Peters, Cisca (Gerrit) Vanden Oever, and Mien (Jos) Theijssen; He was further preceded in death by a brother, Cornelius and his wife Riek; father and mother in-law, Martin and Antonette Jaegers; two brothers in law, John Jaegers, and Jan Vander Wyst, and a sister in-law, Gertie Jaegers.
A Mass of Christian burial for Tony will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday December 16, 2015 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 Wallace St, Combined Locks, with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday beginning at 9:00 until 10:30 AM. Full military honors will follow. Entombment will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
