  • Notes
    • Anstatt, records first record him in about 1558. The oldest document of the Schaafheim Parish official tax record book of the Altar of the Holy Virgin Mary gives info dated 1604. Anstatt was not his given name but an official name that shows his position as a gamewarden probably, since some notes in town books refer to this. Perschbacher means hunter by the brook or stream. He probably worked directly for one of the many Prince's (1689) of the Germanies, he almost certainly earned our family coat of arms. Probably our family knight in shiny/dull armor, after the crusades was given civic/church position. Ann (Perschbacher) Kloehn visited Germany and was told that Anstatt was not Catholic, but gave the Catholic church money they needed for some things when they were first est. Schaafheim is predominately protestant. I find it strange that Anstatt means literally "instead of" and Perschbacher means "Hunter by the brook/stream". In the Schaafheim heimatbuch von Professor Heinrich Geissler P. 58 Anstatt has a note "Feldschutz" which translates literally (field shoes) "battle defender" in 1585-89, this verifies earlier notes as to earning our family coat of arms.
