- Wisconsin Rapids - Anna Lois Wheeler, age 92, of Wisconsin Rapids, WI died Thursday, August 30, 2018 at Hilltop Grand Village in Wisconsin Rapids, WI.
Memorial Services are 1:30 PM Friday, September 21, 2018 at Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home (615 1st Street, Nekoosa, WI).The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday from 12:30-1:30 PM. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery in Nekoosa, WI.
Lois was born April 22, 1926 in Greensboro, NC to Samuel Gladstone and Eva Lorene (Andrews) Bradley. She married LaVerne "Blackie" DeBruin on March 8, 1945 in Florence, SC and divorced in August 1963. She married Val G. Wheeler on September 12, 1964 and lived in Little Chute until August 1970, when he was transferred to Wisconsin Rapids and resided in Port Edwards until 1983. They then moved to Middle Inlet, WI to their summer home and spent winters in Panama City Beach, FL until 2005. Lois then moved to Seymour in 2005.
Lois enjoyed knitting, ceramics and playing bridge. She was a member of Past Presidents of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit #258 of Little Chute, WI.
Lois is survived by three daughters, Diane "Bunny" DeBruin of Little Chute, WI, Barbara Rihm of Wisconsin Rapids, WI and Rebecca (Bernard) Ksionek of Port Edwards, WI; grandchildren, Kori (Tony) Zawojski of Egg Harbor, WI, Cassie (Karl) Schuh of Seymour, WI, Adam (Jade) Rihm of DePere, WI, Kayla Rihm of Prescott, AZ, Bradley Ksionek of Marathon, WI, Benjamin Ksionek of Wisconsin Rapids ,WI and Rebecca DeBruin-Crisco of Milwaukee, WI; and several great grandchildren.
Lois is also survived by three stepchildren, Geri (Dan) Van de Loo of Shawano, WI, Diane Schoen of Pleasant Prairie, WI, and Gordon Wheeler of Pleasant Prairie, WI; four step grandchildren, Dale (Linda) Van de Loo, Deborah (James) Lonick, Todd Schoen and Kristine (Kevin) Walker; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Bradley and Shirley Bradley; brother-in-law, Dr. Louis Palles.
Lois was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Val Wheeler; brothers, Samuel Bradley and David Bradley; stepson, Todd Wheeler; and sister, Peggy Palles.
Lois' family would like to thank the staff at Hilltop Grand Village for the loving, compassionate care given to their Mom.
