- Ann loved to cook, go trout fishing , travel, read, do crossword puzzles and entertain. Her favorite thing to do when having guests for dinner was to send poetic invitations and make individual place names for her table. Toward the end of her life when her sight was almost gone and she could no longer do the reading & puzzles she loved, she would do mathematical calculations in her head to keep her mind active.
Even when living became a chore instead of a joy, somehow her sense of humor would kick in and make things better.
She had a 60-year love affair with her husband, Bernard (nicknamed "Bun") and they had a good life even though they didn't have much money. Their wealth was in their family and each other.
