- Andrew E. Lambie, Combined Locks, age 85, died on Thursday evening, November 3, 2011 at Appleton Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born on November 26, 1925 in Appleton, son of the late Thurston and Florence (West) Lambie. On June 28, 1947, he was united in marriage to Elaine A. Kampo in Appleton. Andrew was an US Navy Veteran and served on the USS LST 121 during WWII. Upon returning from the South Pacific, he worked at Appleton Papers in Combined Locks until his retirement in 1988. He was a member of the Local 144 International Paper Union where he held the position of Chief Steward for several years. He was a member of VFW Post # 10544 of Combined Locks and the American Legion Post #258 in Little Chute. Andrew was a lifelong member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Combined Locks.
Andrew is survived by two daughters: Barb Glasheen and Deb (Mike) Zornow; four sons: Tom (Donna), Bob (Kim), Dave (Roswitha), Todd (Sherry) Lambie; a daughter-in-law Terri Lambie (special friend John Delie); 15 grandchildren: Bill Glasheen, Tania Zornow, Jason (Julie) Lambie, Ryan Glasheen (friend Melissa), Tara (Randy) Nerison, Matt (Katie) Lambie, Angela (Josh) Brantmeier, Erica (Aaron) Kroner, Amber Lambie, Natascha, Nicholas, and Nathan Lambie, Michael and Sara Lambie, Emily Lambie; nine great-grandchildren: Blake, Austin, and Conner Zornow, Aiden and Lila Glasheen, Morgan and Seamus Glasheen, Bryce Kuehl, and Tanner Nerison; two sisters: Sally (Mark) Jansen and Lois Simons. She is further survived by sisters-in-law: Dorothy and Colette Kampo; a brother-in-law James (Millie) Kampo, and Godchildren: Patty VanderWeyst, Jill O'Neil, and Florence Wade, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding him in death were his wife of 62 years, Elaine, his parents, his in-laws: Frank and Eva (Wickens) Kampo, a son, Andy Lambie, Jr., a granddaughter, Erin Glasheen, a son-in-law, Dan Glasheen, brothers: Leland (Nona) Lambie and Neil Lambie, a sister, Lillian "Sis", brothers-in-law: Gilbert Simons, Alex and Roland Kampo, and sisters-in-law: Carol Kampo and Gladys (Chuck) Moorehead.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 5 p.m. on Monday, November 7, 2011 at ST.PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace St., Combined Locks with Fr. Robert Vandenberg celebrating. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton. Full military rites will follow the mass. Friends will be received directly at church on Monday from 3 p.m. until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Andrew's name is being established. The Boettcher Family Funeral Home in Kaukauna is assisting the family. (766-2099)
The family would like to thank the staff from the Oncology Department at Appleton Medical Center, Dr. Guenther, and all the caring and loving people that took care of Dad during his illness.
