- Alvina Jansen Visit Guest Book
Alvina Amelia May Jansen (Nee Gast), age 87, long-time resident of Kaukauna, a faithful member of Bethany Lutheran Church, loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and friend, passed away on Monday, October 10, 2011 at Colony Oaks Care Center in Appleton. Alvina was born on January 5, 1924 in Black Creek, daughter of the late Fred and Martha (Wenzel) Gast. She married Joseph C. Jansen, Sr. and together they had two sons: Joseph Jr. (Loretta) of West Palm Beach, Florida and Dennis (Toni) of Summerfield, Florida.
Alvina is further survived by five grandchildren: Denise Jansen August of Lake Worth, Florida, Amy Jansen Balassone (Bob) of Boynton Beach, Florida; Lisa Jansen Wilderman and Sara Jansen Meiers (Kris) of Appleton; six great grandchildren: Shannen, Bryce, Ashleigh, Carissa, Noah and Jonah; and a sister Gretchen Volpe of Illinois, plus numerous nieces, nephews and loving friends, including her dear friends Neal and Pat Steinberg.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; six brothers: Fred, Harold, Harvey, August, Carl and Gerald Gast; two sisters: Leona Jones and Gertrude Stelzer; and a granddaughter Heather.
A celebration of Alvina's life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 14, 2011 at the BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna with Rev. Levi Willms officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to the loving and caring staff of Colony Oaks, who were like a second family to Alvina, with special thanks to Coral, Heather and Tracy.
