- Mrs. Alvena E. Koepke
Formerly of Shiocton and Stephensville, age 82, passed away Saturday (July 11, 1987) at Pine Manor Nursing Home, Embarass. Mrs. Koepke was born September 5, 1904, in Beloit, Wisconsin, the daughter of Pearl and Pearl (Phillips) Sutton. She married Harold Koepke on May 12, 1925, and farmed in the Shiocton area until Harold's death on February 15, 1964. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Shiocton; their Ladies Aid Society; the Shiocton Chapter of the American Legion Auxiliary and was Past President Parly. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law; Della and Merton Parthie, Stephensville; Elaine and Gaylord Goerl, Rosalie Schuettpelz, all of Appleton; six sons and four daughters-in-law; LeRoy, Longdale, California; Melvin and Dona, Shiocton; Erwin and Cindy, Athelstane, Wisconsin; Merle, Milwaukee; Leslie and Denise, Abeline, Texas; Robert and Judith, American Canyon, California; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ernest Sutton, Chicago; John and Joyce Sutton, Chicago; three sisters and two brother-in-law, Ethel Manteufel, Neenah; Velma and Walter McCullough, Riodosa, New Mexico; Olive and Ben McClellan, Phoenix, Arizona; 36 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and four sisters-in-law. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harold; a son, Donald; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a sister; and five brothers. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 15, 1987, at the First Lutheran Church, Shiocton, with the Rev. Gerald Hinz officiating. Burial will be in the Bovina Cemetery. Friends may call on Tuesday from 4 until 9 p.m. at the Borchardt and Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton, and on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. A memorial fund has been established for the First Lutheran Church, Shiocton.
