    • Alma "Jane" Coenraad, age 80, of Menasha, joined her Heavenly Father on Sunday, July 25, 2010, with her family at her side, after a long battle with cancer. She was born on May 24, 1930, in Menasha, daughter of the late Edward and Eleanore (Zenefski) Scovronski. She graduated from Menasha High School in 1948. Jane was joined in marriage to Christian Lambert Coenraad on July 11, 1953, and was a homemaker and wife until the youngest of their seven children began kindergarten. At this time she began work as a cook at Theda Clark Hospital. She retired in 1990 after 25 years of service but continued as a volunteer at Theda Clark, Big Brothers/Sisters and in a variety of contributing roles for church festivals and events.

She was a life long member of St. John Catholic Church in Menasha, where she was a member of the Rosary Society. She loved to travel with her husband and friends. Jane also enjoyed crocheting, gardening and bowling, which she continued until one year ago, always trying to beat her previous high score. Her greatest love was her family and spending holidays, summer picnics, birthdays and any other reason they could find to be together. Her grandchildren will always remember her "Grandma Jams," which she hand sewed for each one of them every Christmas.

Jane is survived by her husband, Christian; six children: Susan Rix, Menasha; Christine (Randy) Rasmussen, Gillett, WI; Alice McGuire, LaCrosse, WI; Rosemary (Ken Strobel) Coenraad, Neenah; Patricia (Perry) Rindfleisch, Johnson City, TN; and Edward (Jean) Coenraad, Menasha; grandchildren: Jay and Carri Wojcik, Aaron (Carol) McGuire, Jennifer (Andrew) Duerr, Ryan (Brianna) McGuire, Angela (Matt) Wilson, Jacob and Lucas Coenraad; and many great-grandchildren and others who considered her either "Mom Cooney" or "Grandma Cooney."

Jane was preceded in death by a child in miscarriage; one son, David Allen Coenraad; her parents; her sister, Betty (Roland) Kissinger of Stoughton, WI; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Joan) Scovronski, Neenah; two sisters-in-law: Harriet (Martin) Vandehey, Gertrude (Richard) Grieshaber, and one son-in-law, Roger Rix.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at St. John Catholic Church, 516 De Pere Street, Menasha, with Fr. Larry Canavera officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, July 27, 2010, from 4 until 7 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m. and the Rosary to follow, at Martens-Laemmrich Funeral Home, 312 Milwaukee Street, Menasha. Visitation will again be on Wednesday morning, from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Interment will take place in St. John Cemetery, Town of Menasha.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Jane's name to the Community Hospice Foundation, P.O. Box 1534, Appleton, WI 54912.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr.'s Swanson & Phillips, Brenda and Daisy and the entire staff at Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology for their loving care over the past several years.
