    • Alice Emma (Rettke) Nieft, 89, of Green Bay, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on Monday, July 7, 2014. She was born March 17, 1925 in Marinette, to the late Carl and Alma (Kamin) Rettke. Alice married her loving husband of 61 years, John Nieft on May 16, 1953. She was a devoted member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Green Bay. For many years, she worked at Van’s Greenhouse and Florist in Green Bay. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great granddaughter. Alice loved working in her sewing room and making dolls. Over the years, she created many beautiful dolls, doll dresses and afghans that her family will cherish forever.

      She had a large and loving family including her husband John and their five children: Judy Martin (Kathy Solie); John Hal Nieft (Trisha Nolan); Cindy Nieft, Tina Anderson (Bob Chamberlain); and Lori (Jay) Roberts; grandchildren: Nancy Martin; Tanya Anderson; Lloyd (Heather) Anderson; Adam Roberts (Liz Rightor); Jacob (Analicia) Roberts; Ian Martin (Lindsey Thomas); Kaitlyn Roberts; Christopher Nieft Hansen; and Gaven Martin, and her great granddaughter: Sarah Anderson.

      Alice was preceded in death by her daughter, Patty Jo; sisters: Vi Ruechel, Lorraine Schuett, Eleanor Farr and Dorothy Millard; and her brother Harold Rettke.

      Friends may call at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 514 S. Clay St., Green Bay, Wednesday, (today) from 5:00 – 8:00 pm. Visitation will continue on Thursday at the church after 10:00 am until the time of service. Funeral Service 11:00 am Thursday at the church with Rev. Jon Zabell officiating.
