- Alex Karls, Jr., cashier of the State Bank of Howards Grove, died Sunday at St. Nicholas Hospital, a victim of cancer. He was 32.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at St. Dominic's Catholic Church,
Sheboygan with Rev. Cyril Volz, pastor, as celebrant of the requiem Mass. Burial was in Calvary Cemetery, Sheboygan.
He had been cashier of the bank for 12 years, working there while still a
student at Lakeland College. He also was a director of the Franklin Mutual
Insurance Company.
A native of New Holstein, he had been living at 1611 N. 21st Street, Sheboygan, for the past year and one-half.
He was born August 1, 1936, the son of Alex and the late Teckla Karls, and
was married to Geraldine Salm on June 14, 1958. They lived in St. Nazianz
until moving to Sheboygan.
Mr. Karls attended SS. Peter and Paul Elementary School at Kiel and was
graduated from Kiel High School. He graduated from Lakeland College in 1960.
He was a member of St. Dominic's Catholic Church and the parish Holy Name
Society.
Surviving are his wife; two children, his father, Alex Sr., five brothers, a sister, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bruckner, Kiel. His mother died earlier this year.
