    • Clarence James Rebitz, age 84, of Destin, Fla., died Wednesday, July 19, 2006.

      Mr. Rebitz was born in Milwaukee on July 9, 1922, to Wentzel Rebitz and Lillian Kulhanek and was raised in Luxemburg, Wis. He was a first lieutenant World War II veteran of the U.S. Army in active duty serving six years in southern France and central Europe. He married the former Dorothy Smits of Kaukauna, Wis., on Nov. 7, 1953, and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with their family on Nov. 7, 2003. Clarence was a distribution manager at Fairmont Foods Dairy Co. in Green Bay, Wis., for 33 years.

      After retirement, Clarence and Dorothy enjoyed their many travels to several countries before settling in the Destin area to enjoy his passion for golf, fishing and watching the dolphins while walking on the beach.

      Clarence was preceded in death by his father and mother, Wenzil and Lillian Rebitz of Luxemburg; sister, Marcella Heine of Milwaukee, and his youngest sister, Patricia Simonar of Luxemburg.

      He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rebitz of Destin; his sister, Elaine Dorner of Luxemburg; his oldest son, Ken Rebitz, wife Deborah and two grandchildren Dane and Nicholas of San Diego; his second son, Robert Rebitz, wife Pamela and two grandchildren Samatha and Elizabeth of San Francisco; and his daughter, Nancy Senner and husband Eddie of Atlanta.

      Funeral arrangements were handled by the immediate family and were private. He is interred in Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola, Fla.
