- Joyce M. Frank
83, Appleton, passed away Wed. Sept. 3, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born Feb 4, 1931 in Appleton to the late Nicholas and Margaret (Weiland) Kern. Joyce graduated from Appleton High School in 1949. She worked at Zwicker's Knitting Mill. Joyce met the love of her life, William 'Touhy' Frank at the July 4th Celebration in Pierce Park. They later wed on July 3, 1954 and he preceded her in death in 2008.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and also loved to bake, generously sharing what she made with her family. She was an avid Brewer and Packer fan and loved her flower gardens.
She will be greatly missed by her six children: Kerry (Susan) Frank, Panama; Billy (Sue) Frank, Appleton; Jamie (Becky) Frank, Neenah; Sally Frank, Appleton; Jodie (Adrian "Peach") Rietveld, Little Chute and Stacy (Kurt) Steger, Kaukauna; grandchildren: Molly (Bryan) Setzer; Casey Frank; Nick (special friend, Kelly) Frank; Tony Frank; Stefanie Frank; Andy (Marie) Frank; Jaime (special friend, Saul) Rietveld; Carly (special friend, Ben) Rietveld; Lindsey (special friend, Evan) Rietveld; Mitch (special friend Mikayla) Steger and Lucas Steger; great grandchildren: Ava, Colton and Wyatt Setzer; Haley Frank and Patrick Frank; two sisters: Lorraine Coopman, Menasha and Donna (Cornelius) Van Hout, Kimberly; two sisters-in-law: Audrey Frank, Chilton and Marilyn Kern, Neenah.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Touhy and siblings: Vincent, Dolores, Bernice, Joann, Rita and Nick; and her grandson, Bryce Rietveld.
A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 11 AM Monday, Sept. 8, 2014 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Appleton with Rev. Brian Wideman officiating. Friends may visit the family Monday from 9 AM until the time of Mass directly at church. Entombment will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Appleton.
The family wishes to thank Affinity Hospice especially Barbie and her staff for the compassionate care shown to mother.
