- De Pere - On August 11, 2019, Nancy passed away peacefully knowing she would be meeting her Lord and back into the arms of her beloved husband. Nancy was born to the late Louis and Adella (Thomson) McAbee on October 14, 1934. She was the second of eight children. She was a proud graduate of St. Joseph Academy. For many years she enjoyed lunches with her fellow alumni.
On November 24, 1955 she married the love of her life, the man of her dreams, Donald L. Kust. After more than 50 years together, her world was shattered when Don passed away on September 21, 2006.
Our mom dedicated their first years of marriage raising four girls, all born within their first five years. As the girls grew, she became involved in their school activities as well as becoming a Girl Scout Leader. She was involved in Brownies and Girl Scout Camps, never ending crafts and songs.
Mom's Christian faith was very important to her. She was very involved in various parishes, teaching catechism for many years. She was a constant in the church, lecturing, serving communion and knitting beautiful articles for church fund raisers.
Mom was also a great cook and baker. You did not want to be around when she was doing either! She left the biggest mess and if you were to eat the fruits of her labor, you will also clean up her mess. Well worth it. Mom we will miss your amazing spaghetti sauce and the best pie crust ever to be made.
Nancy is survived by her children; Kathy (Greg) Kruzel, Cindi (Cledwyn) Owen, Amy (John) Schwarzenbart, and Michelle (Dave) Yeager. Her beloved grandchildren; Mark (Kelly) Kruzel, Sara (Lucas) Mcgee, Chelsea (Ken) McKay, Reggie (fiancé Samantha Prunty) Schwarzenbart, and Riley (Danielle) Schwarzenbart. "GG's" greatest grandsons; Owyn and Henryk McKay. "Magic Tracks!" Nancy is further survived by her sister DeeDee (Dennis) Yanda, her brother Ron (Cheryl) McAbee, sister-in-law Pauline McAbee, and Julie McAbee. Many nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death, her brothers; Norbert, Louis "Buck", Roger, Don, and her sister; Shan.
Friends may call after 10:00AM Friday August 30, 2019 at the Allouez Chapel Mausoleum, until time of service at 11:00AM with Abbot Gary Neville O.Praem. officiating.
Ryan Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Special thanks to her son-in-law John, whose vigilant care was never ending.
Mom we love you, a piece of our hearts joins you and dad. You have renewed happiness! You will be missed, God Bless.
