- Oscar Schoen, 74, died unexpectedly Thursday, Aug. 2. He had been in failing health for several years due to a heart condition.
The deceased was born June 28, 1882, in Kloten, town of Stockbridge. He was married at Thorp, Nov. 24, 1910 to Anna Schroven, Stockbridge. With his brothers he operated a steam threshing outfit in the town of Stockbridge and Brothertown for 55 years in connection with his farm work.
He was a member of the village board for 19 years and was also president of the Harbor Gun Club for 15 years, of which organization he was a charter member.
Survivors include the widow, a son, Gilbert and a daughter, Mrs. John Campbell, both of Stockbridge. Also surviving are eleven grandchildren; a brother, Herman; and a sister, Mrs. Adam Schluchter, both of Chilton.
Monday morning the Solemn High Mass was read by Rev. William Memauer, nephew of the deceased, of Holy Trinity church, Jericho, in St. Marys church Stockbridge. Burial was in St. Marys cemetery.
