- Menasha - Joseph Sauter, resident of Menasha 45 years, died Wednesday at the home of his son, Earl Sauter. He had been ill three months. Mr. Sauter was born in Milwaukee, June 20, 1849. For a number of years he served as a member of the Menasha police department. He was a member of the Germania society and of the Holy Name society of St. Mary's parish.
Surviving are two sons, Earl Sauter of Menasha and Anthony Sauter, of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Mrs. Richard Whipple, Mrs. Alex Gasperick and Mrs. Barbara Lenz, all of Chicago, and Mrs. Henry Bell, of Wauwautosa; one sister, Mrs. Matt Schmidt, of Appleton; and 11 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Friday morning at 9 o'clock from St. Mary's church. Rev. John Hummel officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's cemetery.
