- Francis L. Dorn age 73 of Hilbert died on Wednesday December 17, 2003 at Calumet Medical Center in Chilton.
He was born September 20, 1930 in the Town of Harrison son of the late Louis & Katherine (Kieffer) Dorn. Francis married Marlyn Eldred on June 1, 1957 at St. Mary's in Stockbridge. During his life, he worked fro Kurz & Root as a machinist and tool & die cutter. Following his employment at Kurz & Root, Francis worked as a contractor building houses. He was a member of St. Mary's in Hilbert. Francis was a quiet "Jack of all trades" who loved woodworking and woodcrafts. He enjoyed being outdoors and was an avid ice fisherman and loved sturgeon spearing. He even once had the largest sturgeon of the year off of Lake Winnebago. Francis loved his wife, children, grandchildren and was looking forward to being a great grandfather very soon.
Survivors include his wife Marlyn; 3 children: Kay (Todd) McGeough of Kiel, JoAnn (Todd) Cheslock of Neenah, Daniel Dorn of Hilbert; 5 grandchildren: Ashley (Joel) Longmore, Michael (Special Friend Lindsay Westermen) Wagner, Lacy Wagner, Gage & Garrett McGeough; 1 sister: Lucille "Toots" Olson of Hilbert; Louis (Jenny) Dorn of DePere. Francis was preceded in death by 2 brothers: John & Bill Dorn.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday December 20, 2003 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Hilbert with the Rev. Rallen Stencil officiating. Burial will follow in Parish Cemetery.
Dad, We all loved you very dearly.
