    • Stockbridge – Mrs. Caroline Dorn passed away Friday, April 7th, at the home of her son, Edwin, after a lingering illness.

Caroline Neitzel was born in Blank Wolf township, Winnebago County, June 4, 1855. She grew to womanhood in that township and on March 30, 1875, was united in marriage to August Dorn of this place. They came to live on the farm in Harrison, just over the Stockbridge – Harrison line and they lived there thirty years, until they retired from the farm and bought a home in the village where they lived eight years. Mr. Dorn passed away ten years ago. Since then Mrs. Dorn has been making her home with her son, Edwin. She failed in health for past year, but her illness did not become grave until New Year’s.

On Jan. 4th she underwent an operation at St. Elizabeth’s hospital, Appleton. Since her return home she has gradually weakened. Mrs. Dorn was highly respected and well loved in the community. She was a modest, retiring disposition and her chief enjoyment was caring for her family. She was a member of the Methodist church and of the Ladies Aid Society. She was also a member for 40 years of the Golden Rule Rebakah lodge here.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Emma Hostettler; three sons, Fred, Louis and Edwin. Two sons, Robert and John, preceded her in death. She also leaves one brother, Charles Neitzel; two sisters, Mrs. Pauline Ristow and Mrs. Rose Hoeffler all of Oshkosh; 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
