Formerly of Bear Creek, age 96, died Sunday, June 13, 1993 at St. Joseph Residence in New London. She was born on November 11, 1896 in Bear Creek, the daughter of James and Mary (Roughan) Dempsey. On September 18, 1928, she married Michael Gorman in Bear Creek. She was a telephone operator in Bear Creek for many years and was a life long resident of the Bear Creek and Lebanon areas. She especially enjoyed crocheting, knitting and sewing. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law Edward and Jean Gorman, Manawa; three daughters and sons-in-law: Mary Jane and William Sullivan, Bear Creek; Kathryn and Howard Frederick, New London; Patricia and Roger Leary, Green Bay; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Michael in 1951; a grandson and several brothers and sisters. Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 16, 1993 at 10:30 a.m. at the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lebanon with the Rev. Frank Reinke officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be at the Cline-Hanson Funeral Home, New London on Tuesday from 4 until 9 p.m. where an 8 p.m. prayer service will be held and on Wednesday from 8 a.m. until the procession leaves for the church.
