- Carol A. Fassbender, age 67, of Hortonville, passed away unexpectedly at her residence on Wednesday April 17, 2013. She was born on August 12, 1945 in Appleton, daughter of the late William & Delores (Lambie) Hawley and stepfather, Donald Peterson. On April 11, 1964 she was united in marriage to Thomas Fassbender in Greenville. He preceded her in death in 2009. Carol was a caring, loving person always helping others. She enjoyed baking, cooking and attending her grandchildren's activities. She was delighted to be here for the birth of her first great grandson. Carol loved to play cards and watch the Packers. She is survived by two sons, Scott (Wendy) Fassbender, New London, Jeffrey (Julie) Fassbender, Hortonville. Brothers and sisters, Sandra (Robert) Tauscher, Washington, Sharon (Keith) Krause, Hortonville, John Hawley, California, Dan (Tammy) Hawley, Hortonville, Michael (Bonnie) Hawley, California, Linda Hawley (Ric Coon), New York, Tammy (Bruce) Weyenberg, New London, Janet (Dennis) Jewell, Oregon, Donald Peterson, New London. Her grandchildren, Holly, Carena, Alyssa, Ashley, Aaron, Alicia and her great grandson, Ryder. She is further survived by a special neighbor who was like a third son, Craig Binversie and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Jesse Krause and her father-in-law, Elmer Fassbender.
The Funeral Mass for Carol will be held at 11:00a.m. Saturday April 20, 2013 at Ss. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville with Fr. David Funk, OFM Cap. And Parish Director Greg Layton officiating. Entombment will be in the Highland Memorial Park Cemetery in Appleton. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
