    • CITY RESIDENT DIES AT 74; FUNERAL SET

      Avery J. Sommerfeldt, 74, of 178 W. Follett St., died at 10 a.m. today at his home.

      Born Sept. 1, 1894, in Markesan, the son of John and Pauline Yeske Sommerfeldt, he married the former Anna Marie Van Langenburg. She preceded him in death on Dec. 25, 1961.

      He was a machinist at the Tobin Tool & Die Co., until his retirement in 1960. He was a member of St. Louis Church and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 270.

      Survivors include one son, Harry J. of Fond du Lac; one brother, Herman of Ripon; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

      Nine brothers and sisters preceded him in death.

      Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday from Zacherl Funeral Home and at 10 a.m. from St. Louis Church with the Rev. Wilfred Upson, O.M.I., officiating. Burial will be at Allouez Cemetery in De Pere. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.

      Funeral services for Avery J. Sommerfeldt, who died Tuesday, were held at 9:30 a.m. today at Zacherl Funeral Home and 10 a.m. at St. Louis Church with the Rev. Wilfrid Upson O.M.I., officiating. Burial was in Allouez Cemetery in De Pere.

      Pallbearers were Marvin and Kenneth Sommerfeldt, Raymond Lenz, Harold Heuer, Raymond Treleven and Louis Mallman.
