Maurice A. Emperor

Age 100, passed away Saturday, October 30, 1999 at St. Paul Home after a short illness. He was born October 7, 1899 in Kaukauna, son of the late Theodore and Catherine [Burkhart] Emperor and was a lifelong resident of Kaukauna. In 1926 Maurice married Regina Weyenberg of Appleton and a resided at Wilson Street for 61years. They celebrated 60 years of marriage on September 20, 1986, at the Paper Valley Hotel with family and friends. Regina preceded Maurice in death on June 20, 1993. Maurice worked of the C& NW Railroad until 1929 when the Machine Shops closed. A few years later he started with Thilmany Pulp and Paper, he was there for over 30 years where he served as superintendent of the Paper Bag Division. Maurice retired in 1962. He was a member of Thilmany Managment Club, Quarter Century Club, the Kaukauna Lions, Kaukauna Knights of Columbus [for 80 years] and the 4th Degree Knights of Appleton. He was also a member of Holy Cross Church for over 70 years.
He will be sadly missed by his daughter and son in-law, Yvonne and Donald Gottschalk, Racine; and five grandchildren and their families, Donald Jr., [Judi] Gottschalk, Wauwatosa; Steven [Colleen] Gottschalk, Racine; Mary [Peter] Bacon, Pewaukee; Kevin [Mary Jo] Gottschalk, New Berlin; Robert [Heidi] Gottschalk, Elkhorn; also eleven [soon to be 12] great grandchildrn.
Other than his parents and wife, Regina, Maurice was preceded in death by two brothes, Wilfred and Theodore Jr.
The Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 1999 at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna with Fr. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Memorials to St. Paul Home woud be appreciated.
