    • Appleton Post-crescent, 25 Mar 2010: Janet G (Rhode) Dorow, age 77 of Appleton, passed away in Mission, TX, on Monday, March 22, 2010. She was born in the Town of Little Wolf on April 25, 1932, the daughter of the late Benjamin & Frieda (Ploetz) Rhode. Janet was Baptized in Christ on May 11, 1932 & confirmed Lutheran on June 17, 1945. She graduated from Manawa High School, class of 1950. On October 31, 1953, she married her husband of 56 years, Erwin Dorow, Jr. Janet & Erwin loved being Winter Texans. Janet is survived by her husband, Erwin; son Kurt (Kay) Dorow of Kaukauna; daughter Patricia Voss of Almond; grandchildren Lucas & Logan Dorow, & Tammy, Baylee, & Blake Voss; brothers & sisters-in-law Ralph (Elaine) Dorow, Caroline (Dennis) Laabs, Violet (Dorman) Litton, Velme (Dale) Stofferahn, & LeRoy (Sally) Dorow; & sister-in-law Edith Dorow. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben & Frieda; Erwins parents, Erwin Sr & & Caroline (Schneider) Dorow; & a brother-in-law Lawrence Dorow. The funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Sunday, March 28, 2010 at St Matthew Lutheran Church, Appleton. Friends will be received at Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton on Saturday, March 27 from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. & at the church Sunday from 3 p.m. until the time of service. The burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 29 in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. " The family extends a special thank you to the nurses & doctors in the I.C.U. at Mission Regional Medical Center in McAllen, TX for their wonderful care & support of Janet & her family".
