      Mrs. Jerry Girard (Alma Grode) 1603 W. Summer St., age 73, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother died after a short illness April 15, 1988 at Appleton Medical Center. She was born August 12, 1914 in Darboy, where she married F. J. 'Jerry' Girard May 4, 1933 at Holy Angels Catholic Church. She resided in Appleton until 1961 when she moved to several areas including, Winchester and Boom Bay Heights (Rt. 1, Larsen). She returned to Appleton in 1982. She was a member of the Golden Agers and enjoyed playing cards.
      Survivers include her husband, a daughter, Kathleen Hoffman, a son and daughter in-law, Richard and Sandy Girard, a daughter in-law, Judy Girard, a son in-law, Richard Hoffman, all of Appleton; three sisters and two brothers in-law; Rose (Harold) Verstegen, Little Chute; Adeline Fox, Kaukauna; Viola (Robert) Rudloff, Appleton; a brother and sister in-law, Rolland and Gloria Grode, Appleton; five sisters in-law; Aurelia Grode, Appleton; Mildred Grode, Kaukauna; Trudy Pekel, Menasha; Mal Hooverson, Menasha; Viola Anderson, Little Chute; a brother in-law, George Sprangers, Kimberly; six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
      She was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Robert in 1983, two brothers; Willard and Edmund, three sisters; Mary Sprangers, Ella Heiderman, Laura McCurry.
      Complete funeral services will be Saturday April 16, 1988 at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, 537 N. Superior St. Friday (tonight) from 4 to 8 p.m. and from 8 a.m. Saturday until the cortege leaves for the church. Prayer and scripture service will be 7 p.m. tonight. A memorial fund is being established. Alma will always be loved and deeply missed.
