Verstegen, Marie R.
Marie R. Verstegen, Little Chute, 82, died Friday Oct. 2, 2009, at Brewster Village with her loving family by her side after a lengthy medical condition. She was born to the late Martin & Minnie (Dercks) Hietpas on April 10, 1927. Marie married Carl (Bucky) Verstegen on May 22, 1947, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute and he preceded her in death June 7, 1987. Marie was a cook for her family restaurant for years and enjoyed cooking for everyone. She truly loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She looked for the best in everyone and cared for everyone.
Marie is survived by two daughters and son-in-law: Lynn (Jim) Keyzers, Wausaukee; Mary Ann Rickert, Wausau; a son and daughter-in-law: Richard (Laurie) Verstegen, Appleton; nine grandchildren: Erica (Bo) Huffman, Megan Rickert, Stacey (fiance Ken Rehbein) Verstegen, Craig (Liz) LeBlanc, Eric and Marlee Keyzers, Aaron Buxton, Travis Buxton-Verstegen, Michelle (Kobussen) Mueller; eight great-grandchildren: Liam, Flynn, Aayla, Madison, Will, Issaac, Jocelynn, Miranda; two sisters and two brothers: Verona Pahl, Grace Van Dyn Hoven, both of Kaukauna; Paul Hietpas, William (Pat) Hietpas, both of Little Chute; sisters and brothers-in-law: Rosalie Hietpas, Bernice Vander Velden, Irene (Don) Peeters, Ida (James) Peeters, Joanne Hawley, Loretta Hoelzel; special long time friends: Thelma "Peanuts" Ryba, Gordy Van Handel, Judy Wydeven and Mark Peeters; many special nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl (Bucky) Verstegen; son-in-law: Mike Rickert; four brothers: Austin (Myrtle), James (Marie), Gordon (Dorothy), and Richard Hietpas; sisters and brothers-in-law: Delores Hietpas, Robert Pahl, William Van Dyn Hoven, Regina (Clarence) Bouressa, Joseph Vander Velden, Robert (Lillian), Lester (Peg), Gerald (Margaret) and Joseph (Charlotte) Verstegen.
Visitation will be held Tuesday Oct. 6, 2009, at ST. JOHN NEPOMUCENE CATHOLIC CHURCH (323 S. Pine St. Little Chute) at 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 11 a.m. The Rev. Msgr. Marie's family wishes to thank all the special people at Brewster Village for their loving care and compassion.
Marie is now at eternal peace and comfort. She was a person who cared and worried about everyone. She found the good in everyone. She will always be loved, remembered and truly missed. Love you, your family.
