Glasenapp, May Bast
May Bast Glasenapp, 90, New London, went to her heavenly home on Friday, April 16, 2010, at St. Joseph Residence. She was born on May 10, 1919 in the Town of Maple Creek, daughter of the late Henry and Anna Marie (Kusserow) Zimmerman. She married William Bast on Aug. 24, 1938, following his death, she married Louis Glasenapp on Aug. 10, 1990. He also preceded her in death. May worked as a part-time sales clerk for Campbell's Clothing Store in New London. She also worked part-time at Jennings Green House and Buss Dry Cleaning. She was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London.
She is survived by a son, Richard (Jane) Bast, Greenville; daughter, Betty Ann (Carl) Techlin, Appleton; grandchildren, Cindy (Jeremy) Thiesfeldt, Fond du Lac; Bradly (DeeAnn) Techlin, Brookfield; great-grandchildren: Hannah, Rachel, Lydia and Joshua Thiesfeldt; Carley, Emily, Alyssa and Jessica Techlin; sister: Evelyn (Vernon) Conradt, Shiocton. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 36 years, William Bast in 1974; her second husband, Louis Glasenapp, in 1993; her brothers, Arnold and Irvin Zimmerman in 1928; her step-father, Herman Roos, step-sister Millie Rubbert and dear friend Ervin Stern in 2008.
The Christian Funeral for May will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London with Rev. Brian Hennig officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hill Cemetery in New London. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Please make donations to Emanuel Lutheran Church, Emanuel Lutheran School or Fox Valley Lutheran High School.
The family would like to sincerely thank the staff at St. Joseph Residence and Heartland Hospice. Their care and concern was a blessing to our mom and to us. We thank our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for watching over mom all these years that she lived by herself. For providing her with her church family and close friends that kept her so active and busy. To God be the glory!
