    • Jack M. "Jake" Nett, age 77, of Sherwood, died on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at his home in Sherwood. The doctors said, "We have no more tools left, our tool box is empty." so Jake has left this world to be with his Savior.

He was born in Milwaukee to Herman & Regina (Laudolf) Nett on October 1, 1938. Jack moved to Sherwood in 1940 and worked on the family farm till the present where he raised his family with his wife, Millie. Jack was a graduate of Hilbert High School where he was Senior Class President and Student Director. He enjoyed being in the band and always had a love for music.

He married Mildred Diedrich at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hilbert on September 30, 1958. They were blessed with 5 children.

Jack was a lifetime member of St. John Sacred Heart Parish, Sherwood. He joined the men's choir at Sacred Heart at the age of 16, then became a member of St. John mixed choir for 35 years. He also enjoyed singing karaoke at Jeannie's in Sherwood until COPD took his voice. Jack worked for the Calumet County Highway Department for 38 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of the American Federation of County and State Municipal Employees Branch 1362 where he served on various bargaining committees. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, past President of the Holy Name Society, and was active on the Parish Council.

Jack loved to travel and planned fun trips for his wife, friends and relatives. They traveled all over the United States, and even visited Canada and Mexico. He also loved to be at his cottage in Lakewood where he and Millie spent time fishing and having their family enjoy the beauty "up north".

Because he was an avid Brewer's fan, Jack attended many games with family and friends. No family gathering was complete without Jack and his jokes and singing. He deeply loved his family and many friends, especially his grandchildren and great grandchild.

Survivors include his wife: Millie Nett; his children: Linda (Dan) Schroeder, Vicki Goodrich & her special friend, Chad Daun, Phillip (Sharon) Nett, Marea (Brandon) Podhola, Mike (Erin) Nett; 10 grandchildren: Jordan (Fiancee Brittany) Schroeder, Joel (Hannah) Schroeder, Alex (Aaron Flietner, Samantha Goodrich (Mike Teigen), Jaclyn (Mike) Ruhland, Riley (Jamie) Nett, Connor Nett & his special friend, Jessica, Jacob Podhola, Landon & Ayden Nett; 1 great grandchild: Gavin Schroeder; special friends: Shaun & Sarah Puls and family; and 2 sisters: Mary (Bob) Sweere, Donna (Michael) Pomrening. Jake is further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at St. John Sacred Heart Parish in Sherwood with the Rev. Michael Betley officiating and Dcn. Steve Vande Hey assisting. Friends may call at the Wieting Family Funeral Home (411 W. Main St.) in Chilton from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 and on Thursday at the church from 9:00 am until 10:30 am. Vigil services will take place Wednesday evening at the funeral home at the close of the visitation.

Feel free to attend dressed casually, and given the significance of the Milwaukee Brewers in Jack's life, you're encouraged to wear your favorite Brewers apparel; it would be greatly appreciated by his family.

The Nett family would like to thank all of Jack's special caregivers at St. Elizabeth Hospital and the Affinity Visiting Nurses and Hospice.
