    • David John Vogl, age 49, of Appleton, died unexpectedly on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Theda Clark Hospital. David was born in Appleton on February 18, 1964 to John J. and Margaret M. (Miller) Vogl. He graduated with the class of 1983 at Appleton East High School. He worked at Resource One until he was disabled from an accident. David enjoyed NASCAR and in his younger days he loved hunting and fishing in the great outdoors.

      He is survived by his son, Michael Vogl, Waupaca; mother, Margaret Vogl, Appleton; 6 siblings: Becky Vogl, Appleton, Margaret Vogl, Appleton, Theresa Vogl, Appleton, John (Mary) Vogl, Kimberly, Joseph Vogl, Appleton, and twin sister Dianna (Daryl) Bunnell, Appleton; a niece, Kelly (Nathaniel) Wagner, Kimberly; 3 nephews: Carl (Carisa) Fronczak, Oshkosh, Chad Fronczaak, Waupaca, and Jason Vogl, Kimberly. He is further survived by numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

      He was preceded in death by his father, John J. Vogl, paternal grandparents, John and Theresa Vogl, maternal grandparents, Perie and Anna Miller, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

      A funeral service will be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, July 23 at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit directly at the funeral chapel on Tuesday from 4 pm until the time of service. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.

      The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Yazbak and the ICU Staff at Theda Clark Hospital - especially Nurse Jackie, for the compassionate care given to David.
