- Loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Wilmer H. A"BudA" Falk, age 95, died Wednesday afternoon at Franciscan Care of cancer. He was born April 30, 1911 in Appleton to Henry and Amanda (Kielgas) Falk. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Nushardt, April 21, 1948 in Dubuque, IA. Bud was a graduate of Appleton West Class of 1929. He attended the former BolbyA's Business College and has a certificate in advanced traffic from La Salle University. He was assistant manager of Services Transportation Department for the former Marathon and American Can for 30 years, retiring in 1971. Bud was active in sports, manager and coach for little league and Babe Ruth Baseball for several years. He enjoyed the Packers and Badgers. He was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Bud and Dorothy enjoyed golfing, bowling and traveling together until three years ago when he suffered a stroke. He stayed at home and his wife cared for him until two weeks ago when he fell and broke an ankle. He then had to go to a nursing home where he died. Bud was a past president of Fox Valley Traffic Club and a member of Fox Valley Fraternity.
Bud is survived by his wife; one son; Daughter-in-law; two grandchildren; a great grandson; his wifeA's two sisters. Bud is further survived by many other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Gerald, in 2002; his brother, A. H. Falk; his parents-in-law, Joseph (Martha) Nushardt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
It was BudA's wish to be cremated. A memorial service for Bud will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday November 1, 2006 at St. Paul Lutheran Church with Pastor John Baumann officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00am until the time of services at the church.
