- Robert "Bob" F. Richlen, Jr., 64, passed away, suddenly, from natural causes on March 4, 2012, at his home in Lehigh Acres, FL. Bob was born January 26, 1948 in Cook County, Ill. He was the son of Grace Johanna (Dressler) Kadzki and Robert Richlen, Sr.. Bob was a 1966 graduate of Kimberly High School and soon enlisted in the U.S. Navy. SA Richlen served two years at U.S. Naval Station-Great Lakes. He played both trumpet and baritone in the Navy band. Bob experienced various employment opportunities throughout his life. As a young man, he helped manage the popular, family business at Hillcrest Lodge in Townsend, WI. "Breaker, Breaker Good Buddy," the "Big Bad Wolf" saw the countryside as an over-the-road trucker before becoming a community servant for Wabeno, WI as Town Marshall. He also worked in landscaping and irrigation for about 25 years. Some times referred to as the "Grill Master," Bob enjoyed several hobbies. He absolutely loved camping. It didn't matter if the campsite was in a state park or the back yard. Bass fishing was another of Bob's favorite pastimes. As a resident of Florida for 29 years, Bob could enjoy these hobbies all year long. Other favorite activities included avid reader of science fiction novels, league bowling, and computer use. He had a special fondness for his beloved dogs especially Black Jack.
Bob is survived by his wife of 35 yrs, Carolann, 2 sisters: Sharon Richlen (Flowers) and Molly Stoffregen, 1 brother, Frank, 4 children: Joseph (Nancy), Wil-Michael (Rhonda), Christina Richlen (Jeremy Neal), and Rikki Richlen. 4 step-daughters: Carmen Scholl (Henry White), Connie Henkel (Blaine), Dawn Hansen (Todd), Carie Briggs (Jeff), and many grand and great-grand children.
Bob was preceded in death by both parents and a daughter, Dawny Marie Richlen.
A small memorial service and internment in the Forest Home Cemetery in Townsend is planned for the summer of 2013.
