    • Bernice M. Jaeger, age 81, New London, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016, surrounded by her loving family at Appleton ThedaCare Regional Medical Center. She was born on June 8, 1935, daughter of the late Allen and Elizabeth (Bertrum) Herter. On June 8, 1985, Bernice was united in marriage to Ronald Jaeger.

      Bernice is survived by her husband Ron; children: Terry (Sherry) Freeman, Shawano; Mary (Scott) Marcks, Black Creek; Diana (Tim) Riske, New London; Dorothy (fiancé Bill) Hartjes, Symco; Chris (Kim) Freeman, Black Creek; Kathy (Terry) Krause, Weyauwega; Gail (Mark) Leonhard, Sheboygan; step-children, Debra Jaeger, New London; Karie (Pete) Thorpe, New London; sisters: Kathy McCarty and Teresa Witthunh. She is further survived by 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

      She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Laverne Chervinka, Evelyn Meyers, and Winnifred Kutchenriter; brothers, Gary Herter and Jim Herter and a step-son Scott Jaeger.

      Funeral services for Bernice will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ, New London with Rev. Greg Watling officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London.

      The family would thank the doctors and nurses at ThedaCare and the Hospice nurses from ThedaCare at Home Hospice for all of their concern and tender loving care of our mother.
