Berghuis, Mrs. Clarence (Eunice)
Mrs. Clarence (Eunice) Berghuis, 86, Suamico, died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009, at her home.
She was born June 8, 1923, to the late William and Maude (Desotell) Marto in Green Bay.
On Feb. 1, 1947, Eunice married Clarence Berghuis. He preceded her in death on Aug. 2, 1992.
Eunice had been employed by Schreiber Foods from 1968 to 1980. She loved her children and grandchildren very much, and will be dearly missed.
Survivors include two daughters, Dianne Bell and Rachel Berghuis, both of Suamico; one son, Doug Berghuis of Howard; seven grandchildren, Corey (Lisa) Scales, Christopher Scales, Casey (Bridgette) Scales, Taryn Bell, Logan Bell, Daniel Berghuis, Brooke Berghuis; two great-grandchildren, Natalia and Noah Scales; two sisters-in-law, Ruth (Ed) Mostek and Bess Marto; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, Eunice was preceded in death by three brothers, Winfred, Clayton and Bill Marto, and two sisters, Mildred Marto and LaVerne Lambert.
Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, September 12, 2009, at Saints Edward and Isidore Catholic Church, 3667 Flintville Road, Flintville, where a funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. with the Rev. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund has been established in Eunice's name.
