Age 53, died unexpectedly at his home Friday afternoon July 8, 1977. He was born June 16, 1924 in the Town of Harrison and lived and farmed there all his life. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood.

Survivors include his wife, Marlene VandeHey; seven sons; Ralph, Brillion; David, Combined Locks; Earl, Menasha; Steve, Kaukauna; Larry, Menasha; Frank and Tom, at home; three brothers; Joseph, Menaasha; Floyd and Leonard, both of Kaukauna; five sisters; Mrs. Donald (Janet) VandenHeuvel, Mrs. Jerome (Lorraine) Kohl, both of Appleton; Mrs. Fred (Beatrice) Mueller, Kaukauna; Mrs. Kenneth (Margie) Van Stralen, Kimberly; Mrs. Eugene (Elaine) Gregoire, Menasha; and six grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents. The funeral will be at 10:30 Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Sherwood, with the Rev. Kenneth Frozana officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Greenwood Funeral Home after 2 p.m. Sunday, there will be a prayer service at 8 p.m.

Matt Verkuilen, 73, 806 Jackson St., Little Chute, died at 7:20 this morning after a six year illness. He was born in Little Chute April 22, 1882. He was employed by the Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company Kaukauna, for 30 years.

Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock Saturday morning at St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute with burial in the parish cemetery. Rosary will be recited at 8 o'clock tonight and Friday night at the Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute, where friends may call after 7 o'clock tonight.

Survivors include his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Oscar Onkels, Rt. 2, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Ted Kortz, Rt. 4, Appleton; five sons, Tony and Harvey, Little Chute, Louis and Leo, Kaukauna; and Alvin, Appleton; two brothers, Henry, Kimberly, and John, Sault Ste. Vosters, Robert L. 'Bob'

Robert L.'Bob' Vosters, 59, Kimberly died unexpectedly on Friday, July 29, 2005. Bob was born in Little Chute on April 12, 1946, son of the late Richard and Ruth (Fink) Vosters. For many years, he worked at Appleton Structural Steel, but for the last 12 years had been employed by McCain (Anchor) Foods. Bob enjoyed reading, watching movies, and caring for his cars. Bob married the former Linda Lau on Sept. 14, 1968 in Appleton. She survives. He also leaves behind a daughter, Merredith (Scott) Griesbach, Oklahoma City and their son, Michael; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Lau, Appleton; a sister, Carol (Alden) Johann, Greenville; two sisters-in-law, Carol Halverson, Appleton; and Mary (John) Jimenez, Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother-in-law, Edward (Wanda) Lau, Appleton; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, and his cousin and best friend, Jim Vosters, Little Chute.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents and by his father-in-law, Arthur Lau.

Funeral services for Bob will be held at 12 Noon on Tuesday, Aug. 2, 2005 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Lynn Kollath of Emmanuel United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call directly at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the hour of the service.

A memorial fund in Bob’s name has been established.

Gordon J. Wallenfang

Gordon J. Wallenfang, 62, 1314 Cherry St., died unexpectedly Sunday afternoon in a local hospital. He was born January 17, 1905, in Green Bay and was a lifelong resident of this area. He was the owner of G.W. Electric, and was a master electrician and a member of Local 158.

One brother Douglas preceded him in death March 9, 1967. Survivors include his wife, the former Hilda Van Laanen; one daughter, Mrs. Kay Pinchard, Green Bay; one son, Keith, at home; five brothers; Ralph, Oshkosh; Don, Merlin, Norbert and George, all of Green Bay; two sisters; Mrs. Gabriel Biemeret, Mrs. Tony Rosinski, both of Green Bay.

Mrs. Joseph Verhagen (Justina De Groot) 424 W. Main St., Little Chute, age 83, died at 5:30 a.m. Friday. She was born June 27, 1896 in Little Chute. She and her husband had operater Verhagen's Grocery from 1935 to 1945. She was a member of Catholic Order of Foresters.

Survivors include her brother, Henry De Groot, Little Chute; a sister, Mrs. Marie Retzlaff, Yermo, California. She was preceded in death by her husband, two infant children, five brothers, and two sisters.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Monday from St. John Catholic Church, Little Chute, with the Rev. Richard Klingelsen officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Verkuilen Funeral Home, Little Chute, and from 9 a.m. Monday until time of the service. There will be a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Wallace, John P.



John P. Wallace, Darboy, age 82, died Sunday, October 2, 2005 at home with his family at his side. John was born March 4, 1923 in Darboy, at the family homestead, the son of the late Dan and Lena (Grode) Wallace. On June 25, 1946 John married the former Josephine Smet at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Kaukauna. The couple enjoyed 47 years of marriage together prior to her death in 1994. John lived and worked the family farm his entire life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and was always willing to lend a helping hand. John was a member of the local Two Cylinder Club; he loved and was a collector of tractors of all sizes. He was a lifelong member of Holy Angels Church in Darboy where he served as an usher, was a member of the 'Grandpa Patrol' and Building and Grounds Committee. John loved working for many years at Holy Angles Church picnic, enjoying the company of family and friends. He was 'extremely proud' of his children, grandchildren and passing on his love of his Irish Heritage.

He is survived by his children: John (Sandra), Appleton; and their children: Suzanne Wallace and Melissa (Chad) Roberts, Pete (Karla), Darboy; and their children: Aaron (Kim) Wallace and Megan Wallace, Paul (Cathy), Forestville; and their children: Paul (Corrina) Wallace and Kim (Robbie) Davister, Mark (Diane), Kaukauna; and their children: Jennifer (Brian) Hogeland and Christine (Christopher) Corrao, JoAnn (Roger) Vander Heiden, Kaukauna; and their children: Heidi, Heather, Holly and Lucas Vander Heiden, Mary (Bob) Guy (Mary deceased in 1980) and Bob (Pam, wife of Bob in 1997) Guy, Merrill and Mary’s children: Sam (Kristi) Guy and Tim (Ann) Guy, George (Tina), Hollandtown; and their children: Jessica, Stephanie and John Wallace, Greg (Anna), Darboy; and their children: Rachel, Caleb, Seth, Elizabeth and Andrew Wallace, Karen (Steve) Gunderson, Menasha; and their children: Kelsey and Simon Gunderson, 14 great-grandchildren: Justin, Aiden, Emersyn, Morgan, Bryce, Graham, Bailey, Josie, Bennett, Madelin, Lindsey, Thomas, Mathew and Brynn, a sister-in-law, Margaret Wallace, Combined Locks; numerous nieces and nephews. John is further survived by his wife’s family, 'Mugs' (Norman) Bowers, Joe (Ceil) Smet, 'Frannie' (Germaine) Smet, Katie Schlimn, Clarence 'Gramps' (Margaret) Smet and Jack Van Handel.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine in 1994, his daughter, Mary in 1980, a grandson, Shane Clarke in 1996, four brothers and their spouses: Jim (Stella), Dan, Clem (Gerry) and Edward, five sisters and their spouses: Maggie (Henry) Stumpf, Isabelle (Joe) Stumpf, Rosella (Matt) Sprangers, Kate (Bill) Vanden Elzen and Bea (Mike) Buchinger. He was further preceded in death by his wife’s family: Ed Smet, Marion Smet, Taunce Van Handel and Bud Schlimn.

John’s Mass of Christian Burial will be at 12 noon on Wednesday, October 5, 2005 at HOLY ANGELS CATHOLIC CHURCH, Darboy with Fr. Donald Zuleger officiating. Friends will be received at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna on Tuesday (TONIGHT) October 4, 2005 at 4 p.m. with a parish prayer service concluding the evening at 8 p.m. Friends may call again at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the cortege to church. Age 91, died peacefully on Sunday morning, July 27, 2003 at the Juliette Manor Nursing Home of Berlin.
Marie was born May 24, 1912 in Sherwood, Calumet County, WI; the daughter of John and Mary (Probst) Hopfensperger. She married Leonard J. Seidling on June 12, 1929 in Sherwood, WI and he preceded her in death in 1961. While growing up she farmed in the Sherwood area with her parents, then after marriage she and her husband moved to the Pine River and Poy Sippi area to farm in 1938, then in 1953 moved to the Big Island area and Marie worked as a stitcher for the Sand Knit Corp of Berlin for 21 years up until her retirement in 1975 and lived with her daughter since then, until she became a resident of the Juliette Manor. She is a faithful member of the All Saints Catholic Parish of Berlin and the Ladies Sodality of the parish.

Marie is survived by her daughter, Mary Jane (Donald) Disterhaft, Berlin; son, Victor (Carol) Seidling, Neshkoro; also a daughter-in-law, Jean Seidling, Cheyenne, Wyoming; also 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchilden; two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, three sons: George, John and Leonard; two sisters, five brothers and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 30, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. from Saint Michael’s Catholic Church of Berlin with the Rev. Jerome Maksvytis officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Wiecki-Skipchak Funeral Home of Downtown Berlin on Tuesday (TODAY) from 4 to 7 p.m. and also at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9 to 10 a.m. before we leave for the services at the church. The child was born last November 12, is survived by the parents, a brother, Michael and two sisters, Donna Jean and Mary Kay, and the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Romenesko, Rt. 1 Kaukauna, and Mr. and Mrs. Cyril Weyenberg, Rt. 1, Kaukauna.

Wisconsin Avenue, and a member of the Tavern League.

Ruby (Lamers) Turriff Van Handel, 87, of De Pere, died Friday morning, February 6, 2004 at a local hospital, surrounded by her family. The daughter of the late Richard and Ann (Van Lanen) Lamers was born October 17, 1916 in Wrightstown. On May 2, 1935, she married Robert Turriff in Wrightstown and he preceded her in death on July 14, 1977. They had forty two happy years of farming in the Town of Lawrence. She married Barney Van Handel on December 28, 1979 and he preceded her in death on March 9, 1989. She was a member of the St. Boniface Christian Mothers, Homemakers Club and was an avid Packer fan.

Survivors include six children and their families, Anna Jane Diedrich, De Pere (formerly of Kaukauna); Richard Turriff, of Fla.; and his children Dean (wife-Amy and children, James and Melissa), Dennis (wife-Sandra and children, Robbie and Brandon), Donny (wife-Jill), and Danny (wife-Rene and children, Kali and Devlin) Turriff, Linda Turriff, De Pere; and her daughter, Elizabeth, Mary (Turriff) Lundin, special friend , Roland Sipiorski, and her daughter, Shelby Lundin, De Pere; Marcel Turriff, his wife, Debbie and their children, Ryan and Adam Turriff, De Pere; and Frank Turriff, and his wife, Tracy, and their children, Ben, Kelsey, Brent, and Jamie, De Pere; siblings, Gordon Lamers, Lyle and Helen Lamers, Gene and Delia Lamers, Jane and Ves Vosters, Paul and Helen Lamers, Mary and Jerry Nackers, Rose and Francis Schmidt, Fran and Bob Haen, Emily and Gordon Vander Wyst, and Marcel and Marilyn Lamers.

Age, 90, died Monday, May 23, 1994 at Franciscan Care Center. She was born February 22, 1904 in Nijmegen, Holland. The daughter of the late Chris and Harriet [De Leeuw] Van Daalwyk. Minnie was a Kimberly resident most of her life. She was a very creative person, and was known for beautiful tatting. She was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church and past president of the Ladies of Holy Name.

REV. SCHUELLER FUNERAL RITES IN GREEN BAY
Native Of Appleton Dies After 37 Years In Catholic Priesthood

Funeral services for the Rev. A.J. Schueller, 60, a native of Appleton who died Monday afternoon at the rectory of St. Joseph Church, Green Bay, of which he was pastor, will be held in his parish church at 10 o'clock Thursday morning.
Bishop Stanislaus Bona of the diocese of Green Bay will be the celebrant at the mass. The Rev. Harry Schueller, pastor of St. Sebastien Church at Isaar and brother of the deceased priest will be arch priest. Deacons of honor will be the Rev. Father Delbert Basche of St. Francis Church, De pere, and Dennis Burke, O. Pram, of St. Willibrord Church, Green Bay.
The Rev. Leonard Woelfel, assistant to Father Schueller, will be deacon of the mass, and two former assistants, the Rev. Father William Hemauer of Norman and Michael Bablitch of Askeaton, will be sub-deacon and master of ceremonies respectively. Pallbearers will be six pastors of nearby churches.

Burial will take place in the family lot in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. The Rev. Joseph P. Glueckstein, pastor at St. Margaret Mary Church, Neenah, will give the absolution.
Father Schueller, eldest son of the late Professor and Mrs. Engelbert Schueller, was born in Appleton June 24, 1884. After finishing St. Joseph parish school here he took his preparatory course for the priesthood at St. Lawrence college at Mr. Calvary. This was followed by a course in philosophy at Prairie du Chien and he completed his education at the world famous seminary at Innsbruch in the Austrian Tyrol. Prior to his ordination at Innsbruch on July 26, 1911, he represented the Green Bay diocese at the Eucharistic congress at Mainz, Germany.His first mass was sung in St. Mary Church, Appleton, with his father as organist for the cermony. The mass was celebrated on the fiftieth anniversary of the congregation and the twenty-fifth jubilee of its then pastor, the late Rev. Walter J. Fitzmaurice.The next three years he was assistant to Father Fitzmaurice, and then he was assistant at St. Mary Church in Kaukauna for a year until he became pastor of St. Francis Church at Gresham in 1915. He remained there until 1922 when he was transferred to St. Anne's Church at Francis Creek where he built a new school and a residence for the teaching sisters.The next year he assisted at the first mass of his brother, the Rev. Harry Schueller at St. Joseph Church in Appleton, and in became pastor of St. Joseph Church in Green Bay, remaining ther until his death.
Father Schueller has been an invalid for the last eight or nine years but was able to carry on his work much of the time from a wheel chair. During his pastorate a new church, school and sisters residence were built.

Survivors are two brothers, Lawrence, Kaukauna, and the Rev. Harry Schueller, St. Sebastian, Isaar; and four sisters, Adelaide, Louise, Mary and Celia, all of Appleton.

Age 93, passed away Monday, November 5, 2001 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Nellie was born May 1, 1908 in Little Chute; the daughter of the late Henry and Gertrude (De Kleyn) Van Boxtel. Nellie was the first of their children to be born in the United States since immigrating from Holland in 1903. She was a life long resident of the Fox Valley. She was united in marriage to Harold Hopfensperger on May 17, 1927, sharing 57 years together before his death on July 21, 1984.Nellie was truly the matriarch of our family. She was the glue that bonded us together. She enjoyed spending time with family, playing sheepshead, and making quilts for all her grandchildren. She remained close to the Lord by praying the rosary daily.

She will be deeply missed by her children: Bernice (Mark "Gus") Dercks, Appleton; Audrey (Pat) Long, Menasha; Kenneth (May) Hopfensperger, Bristol, Connecticut; Gary (Barb) Hopfensperger, Saxville; David (Mary) Hopfensperger, Sherwood; 18 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Ann (Sonny) Wildenberg, Kimberly; Isabelle Van Boxtel, Little Chute; Margaret (Lester) Hopfensperger, Appleton; brother-in-law, Roland (Elizabeth) Hopfensperger, Appleton.

In addition to her parents and husband, Nellie was preceded in death by a son, Eugene Hopfensperger in 1997; two sisters: Wilhelmina Brown and Martha Sheehy; and four brothers: Peter, Casey, Frank and Tony Van Boxtel.

The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 5 p.m. Thursday, November 8th at St. Therese Catholic Church, corner of Wisconsin Ave. and Morrison Sts., with Fr. Dan Gilsdorf officiating. He was employed at Wisconsin Container and Menasha Corporation for 13 years retiring in 1975. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Menasha; the American Legion of Menasha. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Marcella; a step son, Benny Hahn, Neenah; a sister, Evelyn Geurts, Freedom; a sister in-law, Mrs. Leon VanDenBerg, Freedom; eight step grandchildren and nine step great grandchildren.

Age 82, died peacefully Friday, January 17, 2003. She was born in Appleton, May 17, 1920, daughter of Walter and Catherine [Halloran] Kohl. Mugsy married Robert M. Vander Velden in 1941, and together they owned Mugsy and Bob's Tavern in Kaukauna. Later Mugsy worked at the Out of Town Club and Larry's Piggil Wiggly in Little Chute where she enjoyed many friendships she made before her retirement. Mugs took great joy in her family and freely spoiled her children and grandchildren. One of her favorite pastimes was bowling at Verbeten's Lanes in the Wednesday night Ladies League. A highlight of her life was traveling to Ireland with her three sisters. Her passion were collecting dolls, telling stories, drinking Coca Cola and eating chocolat [without guilt], and watching the love of her life, John Wayne, on cable, no maztter how many times she'd seen the movie before. She was one of the first residents to move into Round House Manor in Kaukauna, where she lived, surrounded by her dolls, for 16 years. She enjoyed living there and made many lasting friendships.

Mrs. Wynboom was well known for her handicrafs sold in local craft shops.

Mr. Reese served with the United States Army during world War II from February, 1942 to December, 1945 in the European Theatre, receiving the Bronze Star. He was a former member of First Methodist Church, McHenry, Illinois and a life member of both the American Legion and the VFW.

Alvin J. Gerrits, 82, longtime resident of Oneida, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at a local hospital surrounded by his family, after a brief illness. He was born April 12, 1920, in Amery, Wis., to the late George and Regina (VanAsten) Gerrits. On Nov. 19, 1941, he married Norma Verheyden at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Howard. For 35 years, Alvin was the Supervisor and Town Chairman of the Town of Hobart. Alvin was a volunteer for the Town of Hobart Fire Department for 20 years. He retired from the Brown County Highway Dept. 17 years ago. He also was employed at Fox Valley Auto Sales for three years and Broadway Garage in Pulaski for five years. Alvin was a member of St. Joseph Parish, Oneida, the Knights of Columbus of St. Joseph Parish, the Catholic Order of Foresters and was Vice President of the Oneida Snowmobile Club. He was also the Custodian and an usher at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Oneida.

Monday, October 28, 1940

An 18 year old Combined Locks youth died of infantile paralysis this morning and Appleton health officers colsed the kindergarten of Jefferson school because one of the pupils is infected.


The youth is Daniel Sprangers, 18, son of Mr. and Mrs. Math Sprangers, Combined Locks. He died at 3 o'clock this morning, a victim of the disease. He became ill Saturday morning and an iron lung was rushed from Green Bay last night. He was placed in the iron lung at 10:45 las night, rallied and for a time and then weakened and died. He was born at Darboy. Two other children in the Spranger family have had infantile paralysis for 16 and 8 day respectively. The attending physicians said it is unusual that more than one child of a family has contracted the disease at the same time.


Survivors besides the parents are seven brothers; Raymond, Joseph, Miron, Florian, Hilary, Jerry, and Patrick, at home; three sisters; Margaret, Dorothy and Agnes, at home; and two grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Wallace, Darboy.

Private funeral services wer held this morning with the Rev. Emil Smith in charge. Burial was in Holy Angels Cemetery, Darboy.

Age 80, died peacefully Saturday, May 6, 2001, at her home following a short illness with her family by her side. She was born December 16, 1920, in Stanley, Wisconsin, daughter of Anthony and Eva [Mahoney] Diedrich. She married Jerry H. Weyenberg, July 1, 1939, and he preceded her in death September 21, 1974. Betty was a member of Saint Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and was proud of her Irish heritage. Mrs. Weyenberg was a graduate of Neenah High School and was employed at Advocap prior to her retirement.

She is survived by a daughter, Sandee [Rich] Canapary, Pahrump, Nevada; a son, Greg [Gloria] Weyenberg, Neenah; and two grandchildren, Scott and Sue Meyer, and Patrick Weyenberg, all of Neenah; a great grandchildren, Christopher Meyer; a sister, Colleen [Bill] Russell, Neenah; and nieces, nephews and other relatives, and also her faithful little companion, Muffin.

She was preceded in death by her mother ad father; three sisters, infant Nadine, Harriet Tews, and Gwen Cox.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 9, 2001, at St. Gabriel Church, Neenah with Rev. Richard Allen officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Passed away Thursday, March 18, 1999, at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. She celebrated her 94th birthday on March 8. The former Agnes Hooyman and John VandenHeuvel were married June 15, 1926, at St. Nicholas Church, Freedom. They resided in Little Chute their entire married life and were members of St. John Parish. Agnes was an honorary member of the St. Elizabeth Society and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis.

She is survived by her children, Evelyn [Joseph] Bongers, Kaukauna; Sister Estelle, Manitowoc; Roy [Theresa] Darboy; Marlene [Karl] Sachs, Black Creek; Anne [Charles] Fluegel, Oshkosh; and Sister Maria of Jesus, Iron Mountain, Michigan. She is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and a sister in-law, Mrs. John [Helen] Lamers, Wrightstown.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1979; her parents, Frank and Anna Hooyman; two sisters, Rose Calnin, and Margaret VanDeraa; four brothers, Henry, Antone, Sylvester, and Nicholas; and her husband's three sisters, Christine Verhagen, Elizabeth Hietpas, and Rose Van Eperen, and four brothers, George, Peter, Martin and Simon.

Six Weyenberg Children Die In Sunday Morning Blaze At Home
A mass of the Angels was sung at Holy Cross Catholic Church this morning at 10 o'clock in final services for the six children of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Weyenberg, who perished in a fire that swept their home at 1129 Harrison St., early Sunday.

Dead are; Lynn, 7; Douglas, 6; Margaret, 5; John, 3; Barbara, 2 1/2 and Michael, 1 1/2. Burial was in Holy Cross Cemetery. Boys from Holy Cross School served as pallbearers. A large crowd of mourners and friends attended the services at the church and cemetery.

Mrs. Weyenberg is the former Miss Margaret Dorsey of Five Corners. Floyd Weyenberg a native Kaukaunan is employed at the Thilmany Pulp and Paper Company as a job-pipe fitter in the lower mill maintenance crew. All the children were born here; Lynn on May 5, 1951; Douglas, April 28, 1952; Margaret March 17, 1953; John January 7, 1955; Barbara March 22, 1956; and Michael June 15, 1957.

Survivors in addition to the parents, are the grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Dorsey, Rt. 3, Appleton, and Mr. and Mrs. George Weyenberg, Rt. 2, Kaukauna. The Fargo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Van Dyke, 84, Gaston, a former member of the Washington County Board of Commissioners, died June 2, 1987, at Camelot Care Center in Forest Grove following a long illness.Mr. Van Dyke was born July 17, 1902, in Forest Grove, a son of Walter and Margaret Joosten Van Dyke. On February 16, 1926, he married Theresa Cop in St. Francis Catholic in Roy and they celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary this year. Mr. Van Dyke received his education at Verboort Grade School and Forest Grove High School. He farmed his entire life and had lived on the same farm in Gaston since 1929. He was an avid lover of Belgium Draft Horses and was well-known in the area for his participation with his horses in the Oregon State Fair, Washington County Fair, Portland Rose Parade, Forest Grove Gay '90 's Parade and Hillsboro Happy Days Parade. He also drove the hay wagon at the Forest Grove Corn Feed. He was a past Washington County Commissioner, a committee member of ASC and a member of Washington County Planning Commission. Mr. Van Dyke was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, a Chartered Member of the Washington County Sheriff's Posse and a Chartered Member of the Oregon Draft Horse Association.

She married Chris Vanden Heuvel on June 25, 1924 sharing 62 years together, until his death November 24, 1986. She farmed with her husband in the town of Grand Chute until their retirement. She was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers Altar Society.

The greatest joy in her life was her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Hartzheim and Adam Hartzheim; Ann Janssen [John] Meiers. She is also surivived by 12 great grandchildren; two sisters, Jean [Tony] Hermus; Janice Evers, and seven nieces and nephews.

Joseph J. Murphy 737 W. Commercial, Neenah

Age 62. Our beloved daddy passed away Saturday March 13, 1982 unexpectedly. He was born May 12, 1919 in Freedom. Mr. Murphy was employed by the U.S. Postal Service for the past 41 years. He was a veteran of World War II, serving six years in the U.S. Army. Mr. Murphy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elain Wyngaard Murphy; a daughter, Miss Barbara Murphy, Milwaukee; two sons and daughters in-law, Frank and Joan Murphy, Antigo; Mark and Sue Murphy, Appleton; two brothers, Nace, Freedom; Pat, Lake Moshawquit; two sisters, Mrs. Walter [Margaret] Heiss, Appleton; Mrs. Martin [Marie] VanDehy, Kimberly; three grandsons, Andy, Ryan and Michael.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.

The complete funeral will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary Catholic Church. There will be a concelebrated mass with Fr. Robert Schiavone and Fr. Don Fuller. Interment will be in the Star of Hope Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Tretton Funeral Home from 3:30 to 9 p.m. Monday and after 8:30 a.m. Tuesday morning until the cortege leaves for the church. The prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Cyril J. Weyenberg 'Cy' Rt. 2 Garvey Ave., Freedom, age 75, died early Sunday morning following illness. He was born July 7, 1904 in Freedom and had resided in Freedom for most of his life. Mr. Weyenberg was employed by the Outagamie County Highway Department, retiring approximately ten years ago. He formerly served on the Freedom High School Board of Education and the Freedom Town Board. Mr. and Mrs. Weyenberg celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary, August 29, 1979. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, the Holy Name Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters and the Freedom Golden Agers.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Swinkles Weyenberg; three daughters; Mrs. Wilfred (Betty) Stilp, Mesa, Arizona; Mrs. Ray (LaVerne) Romenesko, Rt 3, Kaukauna; Mrs. Gary (Patty) Vande Wettering, Rt 4, Kaukauna; nine grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren.

Mr. Weyenberg was preceded in death by seven brothers, five sisters, and a granddaughter.

The funeral will be at 12 noon Wednesday at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom with the Rev. Leander Nickel officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin Funeral Home from 3-9 p.m. Tuesday and after 10 a.m. Wednesday until the cortege leaves for the church. A prayer service will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday. A memorial fund has been established.

Mrs. Mary Hopfensperger 924 Combind Locks Rd.

Age 83, oassed away at 8:30 a.m. after a short illness. She was born November 7, 1884 at Bonduel, Wisconsin.

Survivors are one son, George, of Kimberly; and two brothers, August Haeff, Gresham, and Ben, Shawano.

Friends may call at the Jansen Funeral Home after 2 o'clock Monday with Rosary at 8 o'clock Monday evening. Funeral to be at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, Kaukauna. Interment at Parish Cemetery.

Peter J. Weyenberg 309 E. 1ST. Kimberly age 90 passed away about 10:30 PM Saturday after a long illness. He was born in Freedom April 27, 1874, was a life member of the Kimberly Clark Corp., Kimberly and a member of the Holy Name Society.

Mr. Weyenberg is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Mrs. Joseph DuPont and Mrs. Fred Fox, both of Kimberly; six sons, John, Rt 1 Menasha, Louis, Zion, Ill. Sylvester, Los Angeles, Ca. Harold, Neenah, Royal and Ben, both of Kimberly; 40 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 9 AM at the Holy Name Catholic Church, Kimberly, with burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the Jansen Funeral Home, Kimberly after 2 PM Monday where the rosary will be prayed at 8 PM.
